The Hjemkomst Center
is located on the banks of the Red River of the North at 202 First
Avenue North in Moorhead, Minnesota just across the river from
Fargo, North Dakota in the heart of Downtown Fargo and Moorhead.
Directions
from Interstate 29
Take
Exit 65 or Main Avenue. Travel east towards Downtown Fargo and
Moorhead (several blocks). When you reach Second Street in Fargo
(before you cross the Red River) take a left (north), drive one
block and take a right (east) onto the First Avenue North bridge.
The Hjemkomst Center is located on the left (north)
just after you cross the river. The Moorhead Center Mall and American
Crystal Sugar parking lots are located on Third Street (turn right
or south) off First Avenue North in Moorhead.
Directions
from Interstate 94
Take Exit 1 or Highway 75 or Eighth
Street. Travel north towards Downtown Moorhead. When you eventually
reach First Avenue North (after crossing two sets of railroad
tracks) take a left (west) and drive to Third Street. If you wish
to park in the Moorhead Center Mall or American Crystal Sugar
parking lots, take a left (south) here. If you wish to drive on
to the Hjemkomst Center, it is located a bit further west where
you’ll find the entrance on your right (north). If you cross
the Red River into Fargo, you’ve gone too far!
Parking
Recommendations and Free Shuttle Bus
The Hjemkomst
Center parking lot fills up fast but is the best place to park.
There are several handicapped parking spots available there as
well.
Also consider the Moorhead
Center Mall Lot located on Third Street between First Avenue North
and Center Avenue in Moorhead. The parking lot at American Crystal
Sugar is also available on Saturday and Sunday during the festival.
A shuttle bus will circulate regularly if you wish a free ride
to the Hjemkomst Center or you may choose to walk the block to
the Hjemkomst Center. Please cross traffic at the stop light as
First Avenue North is a very busy street!
If you are traveling with
an RV, we highly recommend that you park at the Moorhead Center
Mall parking lot. It will ease your parking situation!
